UAE residents can participate in the Audrey Hepburn live auction

Here's some of the actress's memorabilia that's still up for grabs online, while every item in the on-site auction sold for considerably more than its estimated price

Until about 6pm UAE time on Wednesday, October 4, you can bid for actress Audrey Hepburn's personal items, which are currently being auctioned online at Christies.com

The on-site auction, which was held at the end of September at Christie's London, was a clear indication of just how investment-worthy the actress's memorabilia is. For instance, her working script for the film Breakfast at Tiffany's sold for £632,750 (Dh3 million), almost seven times more than its estimated price. The item also broke the world record for a movie script.

Likewise, Hepburn’s Tiffany bangle fetched Dh1.6 million (it was estimated at Dh25,000); her Givenchy gown went for Dh335,000 (estimate: Dh73,000); and her Cartier lipstick holder sold for Dh275,000 - almost 19 times its pre-sale estimate.

So, without losing more time, here are the items you can quote a price for today, and the current bids they were on at about 12 noon.

UK's plans to cut net migration

Under the UK government’s proposals, migrants will have to spend 10 years in the UK before being able to apply for citizenship.

Skilled worker visas will require a university degree, and there will be tighter restrictions on recruitment for jobs with skills shortages.

But what are described as "high-contributing" individuals such as doctors and nurses could be fast-tracked through the system.

Language requirements will be increased for all immigration routes to ensure a higher level of English.

Rules will also be laid out for adult dependants, meaning they will have to demonstrate a basic understanding of the language.

The plans also call for stricter tests for colleges and universities offering places to foreign students and a reduction in the time graduates can remain in the UK after their studies from two years to 18 months.
