Described by photographer Helmut Newton as being a "fashion maniac:, Anna Della Russo - editor at large of Vogue Japan - is as famous for her theatrical style as she is for her publishing career. Seen at every fashion show, decked out in wonderfully outrageous outfits, Della Russo is known for not taking fashion seriously, and always maintaining a sense of fun, regardless of the weather.
So, in keeping with her view of life, when Tod's and Della Russo decided to collaborate on a collection, naturally, the theme she picked was the circus, a narrative around which the storied Italian leather house has created a charming and quirky line.
Featuring bags adorned with cartoon faces, and purses made in the shape of elephant heads, this limited-edition collection is fashion at its joy-filled best. Classic Tod’s Gommino loafers have been reimagined with circus checks in red or black, and laughing clown faces, while an iPhone case gets a lipstick and eyelash makeover.
There is a handbag that comes complete with elephant ears, and even sneakers that wink back at you.
First unveiled in Tokyo in November, with a lavish party and a video starring model Barbara Palvin, Circus has now arrived to our shores, with the grand opening at Level Shoes in The Dubai Mall on December 6.

Some of Darwish's last words
"They see their tomorrows slipping out of their reach. And though it seems to them that everything outside this reality is heaven, yet they do not want to go to that heaven. His life in brief: Born in a village near Galilee, he lived in exile for most of his life and started writing poetry after high school. He was arrested several times by Israel for what were deemed to be inciteful poems. Most of his work focused on the love and yearning for his homeland, and he was regarded the Palestinian poet of resistance. Over the course of his life, he published more than 30 poetry collections and books of prose, with his work translated into more than 20 languages. Many of his poems were set to music by Arab composers, most significantly Marcel Khalife. Darwish died on August 9, 2008 after undergoing heart surgery in the United States. He was later buried in Ramallah where a shrine was erected in his honour.
