Spotted on Bollywood actresses like Bipasha Basu, Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor, Outhouse is a well-established Indian jewellery brand that bridges cultural inspirations with contemporary designs. The latest Outhouse collection is coming to Dubai this weekend, at the Boulevard One exhibition that will be taking place on Saturday, October 1 at The Palace Downtown Dubai. Visitors can shop the edgy handcrafted pieces, which combine leather and metal with semi-precious stones and Swarovski crystals.
At first glance, the jewellery does not appear to be Indian at all, as it doesn’t contain any of the painted glass beads or raw pearls that traditional Indian designs typically feature. Outhouse designs are, instead, somewhat skeletal in nature, bordering on avant-garde. They tend to showcase bold insect motifs, claws, and intricate, geometric figures, splashed with vibrant colours of royal blue, fuchsia, tangerine, emerald and metallic hues.
Launched in 2012 by sisters Kaabia and Sasha Grewal, who made the Forbes India 30 under 30 list this year, the brand has taken part in three seasons of India's Lakme Fashion Week, and was a finalist of the Vogue India Fashion Fund in 2015.
Shop Outhouse jewellery this Saturday, October 1, from 10am-7pm at Boulevard One. The exhibition will be held at The Royal Ballroom in The Palace Downtown Dubai. Or, shop the collection online here.
