One of the world's biggest sporting stars was on hand in Dubai today to open "the world's largest Under Armour store".
Michael Phelps - a brand ambassador for the global sporting giant - hosted the grand opening event at the Dubai Mall store and took part in an exclusive question and answer session.
The American swim star spoke about the importance of dedication and training. “It’s an amazing opportunity to join Under Armour and open their newest Brand House in Dubai,” said Phelps.
“Witnessing the expansion of the brand from my hometown in Baltimore, Maryland to Dubai and all over the world is incredible and I’m honored to be part of the brand’s ability to empower athletes everywhere.”
The store, which boasts a floor space of 700 square metres, stocks everything from running gear to basketball, golf, youth and team sports, and will house collections from Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Misty Copeland and Godolphin (due in-store soon).
The historic partnership between Godolphin and Under Armour marks the first time a leading global sports brand has teamed up with an international equestrian organisation to stock a bespoke clothing range.

What is dialysis?
Dialysis is a way of cleaning your blood when your kidneys fail and can no longer do the job.
It gets rid of your body's wastes, extra salt and water, and helps to control your blood pressure. The main cause of kidney failure is diabetes and hypertension.
There are two kinds of dialysis — haemodialysis and peritoneal.
In haemodialysis, blood is pumped out of your body to an artificial kidney machine that filter your blood and returns it to your body by tubes.
In peritoneal dialysis, the inside lining of your own belly acts as a natural filter. Wastes are taken out by means of a cleansing fluid which is washed in and out of your belly in cycles.
It isn’t an option for everyone but if eligible, can be done at home by the patient or caregiver. This, as opposed to home haemodialysis, is covered by insurance in the UAE.
