Kanye West creates Blexit t-shirts to go with his 'Make America Great Again' cap

The controversial singer is at it again

Ever happy to court controversy, Kanye West now has a t-shirt to wear with his treasured Make America Great Again baseball cap.

West has designed a range of t-shirts that have the words “Blexit” or "We Free" emblazoned across the front, as a rallying cry for African Americans to abandon the Democratic Party.

Just as with Brexit for the Brits, Blexit is an amalgamation of 'black' and 'exit'.

Seemingly throwing his weight behind the Blexit group, which was established a few years ago, West’s t-shirts were unveiled by its spokesperson, Candice Owens, at Turning Point USA’s Young Black Leadership Summit in Washington.

The tops come in shades of coral, turquoise and lilac. There are also denim baseball caps for those who like to mix and match.

At the unveiling of the new tops, Owens said: “Blexit is a renaissance and I am blessed to say that this logo, these colours, were created by my dear friend and fellow superhero Kanye West."

This was an apparent reference to West’s recent meeting with President Trump recently, when the Yeezy star said that wearing a MAGA hat made him "feel like Superman”.

Blexit describes itself being for those “who have released themselves from the political orthodoxy" and that it is “fueled by individuals who are questioning political dogma and choosing freedom over tyranny”.

Kendall Jenner of the Kardashian clan, who is Kanye's mother-in-law, told Ellen earlier this week about how she feels about West's fawning over Trump.

"He was sharing thoughts and things of himself," she said on the Ellen show. "But I would rather he share some of that stuff privately … he definitely has his own thoughts and opinions, and he gets very excited about that. You've known him a long time, I've known him a long time, and he does have different sides to him. And this is a side that nobody's seen before."

"You can’t control what somebody else is doing,” she added. “He has a big voice and he has a lot to say.”
