He's one of the Philippines most famous names, and now Michael Cinco is helping pass on the baton to some of his home nation's freshest new talents. The designer to the stars, who is based in Dubai, was a guest of honour at last night's Filipino Times Awards, held in the Sofitel on Dubai's Palm Jumeirah. The couturier, who has dressed Beyonce, Lady Gaga and Aishwarya Rai, helped hand out trophies at the annual awards ceremony, organised by <em>The Filipino Times.</em> <strong>Scroll through the gallery above to see more pictures from the Filipino Times Awards 2019.</strong> Cinco awarded Hyku Desesto, who runs a photography agency in the UAE, with Photographer of the Year, while production designer and art director Andronico Del Rosario, who has worked on films such as <em>Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol</em>, took home Artist of the Year. Paul Aggarao, meanwhile, was awarded Filmmaker of the Year, while Jose Allen <span>Villena, who established his </span>Bella Donna atelier in 2000, was given the Most Promising Designer of the Year accolade. Also in attendance on the night was Hjayceelyn Quintana, Philippines Ambassador to the UAE, who delivered a speech on stage.
