She is, according to Forbes, the highest-paid actress in the world – and Sofia Vergara knows a thing or two about looking a million bucks on the red carpet, too.

However, the Colombian star, 48, hasn't always hit the sartorial nail on the head.

The Modern Family actress, who played Gloria Pritchard in the long-running hit sitcom, was – as so many of us were – a victim of early 2000s trends when she first found fame.

The former model, who made a name for herself with parts in films and shows including Entourage, Chef and New Year's Eve, has since  carved out a reputation as one of Hollywood's most elegant red-carpet stalwarts.

With a penchant for floor-sweeping block colour gowns, by the likes of Vera Wang and Roberto Cavalli, Vergara can be guaranteed to inject a spot of glamour at any party or premiere.

She also, on occasion, turns to labels from the region, with Michael Cinco, Georges Chakra and Zuhair Murad among her repertoire.
