Watch: eat breakfast with giraffes in specially built cave at Abu Dhabi's Emirates Park Zoo

We’ve all seen the pictures of Kenya’s famous Giraffe Manor, but did you know you can dine with giraffes right here in the UAE?

Emirates Park Zoo in Al Bahyah, Abu Dhabi, is one of only two places in the world where you can enjoy breakfast alongside the tallest land animals.

The zoo launched the experience last year and it has grown to become one of its most popular attractions.

Abby and Mary, the zoo’s two friendly resident giraffes, dine each morning alongside up to six guests in a specially built cave, which allows them to poke their heads in and enjoy their favourite snack of apples, lettuce, cucumber and soy pellets.

Guests are offered a slightly more indulgent breakfast, and can chose from a traditional Arabic menu or a full English.

The experience costs Dh250 per person and includes day access to the zoo, as well as the chance to feed its resident hippo Otto and take part in a traditional African dance lesson.
