Miniland builder in action at Legoland Dubai – in pictures

With the winter school break upon us there will likely be many families heading to Legoland this holiday season and one attraction that is always a hit with parkgoers  young and old is Miniland.

Just as it sounds the attraction is packed with amazing mini lego structures reflecting many of the recognisable structures in the UAE as well as those from across the world. When we visited recently we were so impressed that we decided to send one of our The National photographers, Chris Whiteoak, along to watch Lego builder James Bailey in action as he tweaked and adjusted the amazing displays, clockwise from top left, the tip of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, the Ain Dubai wheel that in real life is yet to open at Bluewaters Dubai, the Dubai Metro and the Burj Khalifa.

Bailey has always loved Lego and luckily for him he gets to spend all day working with the popular blocks. Miniland is made up of a total of 20 million bricks and understandably so the biggest challenge in Bailey's job is keeping the models safe from excited kids and the sandstorms that plague the rest of the park. Legoland is open daily.
