The Dubai Stars walk of fame has officially launched in the emirate. At a star-studded event in Downtown Dubai, A-list names including Sonam Kapoor, Balqees Fathi and Mona Zaki turned out to unveil the star-studded attraction.
The press conference, held at the Palace Downtown, was attended by artist Mattar Bin Lahej, former Al-Hilal footballer Yasser Saeed Al-Qahtani and comedy television personality Ahmed Helmy.
Also at the event was actress Sonam Kapoor; singer Balqees Fathi; singer, composer and actor Muhammad Atif Aslam; actress Mona Zaki; and internet star Khalid Al Ameri.
Although they weren't at the event in person, high profile personalities Huda Kattan, Mohamed Salah and Priyanka Chopra have also been honoured with Dubai Stars. They pay homage to local and international personalities from various fields including music, film, art, architecture, sport and literature, as well as social influencers.
K-pop bands, Exo and BTS have also both been honoured with Dubai Stars.
Shymaa Binbrek, the general manager of Downtown Dubai, said, "In a city that has embraced the idea of multiculturalism, we take pride in implementing an initiative that will resonate with the local expatriate population and tourists visiting the emirate.
"The Dubai Stars, surrounded by landmark attractions such as Burj Khalifa, The Dubai Mall and Dubai Opera, is touted to become one of the most-visited destinations in Dubai."
When the project is complete, Emaar says there will be 10,000 Dubai Stars in Downtown Dubai.
