Al Jazira, who are a bit thin in the back, have obtained the defender Sami Rabea from Al Wasl, a league official confirmed late tonight, our colleague Ahmed Rizvi reports.
Rabea wore the captain's armband for Al Wasl's first two matches. He was not available for the Abu Dhabi Derby tonight against Al Wahda; the deal had not been completed.
And one to stick in the "pending" file: Baniyas are still pursuing a Brazilian striker. If the club can bring in the Brazilian, it is expected he will replace the Senegalese striker Andre Senghor, who has two goals in two matches.
Baniyas officials, however, believe Senghor missed many more good chances to score and that two goals are not enough, given the number of opportunities he had in Baniyas's first two matches.
If Baniyas make a move, it almost certainly will not be disclosed until after their match at Wasl on Friday night.
