The mood was otherworldly at the spring/summer 2016 presentation from Hâsché at day one of Fashion Forward.
The clothes consisted of a lot of whites, geometric details and asymmetrical cuts. Some pieces featured peculiar embellishments of a spiral, bullseye nature. Others looked especially luxe, like a pink top that incorporated a gold bar strung through its neckline.
Crisp white shirts and tunics were embellished with a touch of layered rocks: glistening granites and amethysts in various shapes and sizes. These rocks were also attached to the ends of exposed zippers. Models wore old-school aviators and walked along to an electro beat.
Though the collection may not have been particularly mainstream, it was a fine display of out-of-the-box design. The highlight piece was a pair of wide-legged trousers featuring belt loops that were raised up off of the waistband, complete with a leather belt threaded through them. This is the type of innovation in design that stands out, and should be applauded.
