Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has undergone a surgical procedure, Saudi Press Agency reported late on Wednesday.

Prince Mohammed had a laparoscopy "to eradicate appendicitis", on Wednesday morning, SPA said, quoting a statement by the Royal Court.

The procedure was successful.

It was carried out at King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Riyadh.

Prince Mohammed was seen leaving the hospital in a video carried by SPA.

He is in good health.

A laparoscopy, also known as diagnostic laparoscopy, is a surgical diagnostic procedure used to examine the organs inside the abdomen with a high-resolution camera.

It is a low-risk, minimally invasive procedure that requires only small incisions.
