Chanel has revealed that the advertising campaign for its new Gabrielle bag will feature four of the house's most famous friends – Kristen Stewart, Caroline de Maigret and Pharrell Williams, who are all Chanel ambassadors, and Cara Delevingne, one of Karl Lagerfeld's much-loved muses. The campaign has been shot by Lagerfeld himself and will be unveiled on April 3.

The fashion house has also released Lagerfeld’s sketch of the soon-to-be-iconic bag. First presented during Chanel’ spring/summer 2017 ready-to-wear show, the Gabrielle is “a mischievous wink” to its famed namesake, Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel, says the brand.

Fitted on a rigid thermoformed base, the main body of the bag is defined by its extreme suppleness and lightness. Its adjustable strap comes with a double chain woven from leather, and golden and silver metal, which means there are several ways of wearing it – over the shoulder, across the body or both at the same time, with the chain going over one shoulder and then diagonally across the other. It is designed to adapt to all characters, situations and moods, as demonstrated by the diverse nature of the four famous faces responsible for promoting it.
