Sharjah hotels under inspection

SHARJAH // A 10-day inspection campaign on 107 hotels was launched by the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority to ensure they adhere to health, hygiene and environmental guidelines. The hotels were given 20 days to carry out maintenance.

Khalid Al Midfa, director general of the authority, said there was a need to follow up the level of services provided by the industry partners to the emirate’s increasing number of guests.

Sharjah received more than a million hotel guests during the first half of this year.

The director general said there has been continuous cooperation and coordination between the Authority and industry partners to upgrade the tourism and hospitality services in Sharjah as well as to ensure smooth and world-class services during major events, festivals and exhibitions hosted by the emirate that attract thousands of tourists and guests.
