RAS AL KHAIMAH // Ras Al Khaimah Municipality plans to further develop the emirate’s fish markets this year.
The municipality’s public health and environment department said the plans are aimed at meeting the needs of both sellers and consumers.
The morning fish markets and Al Mairid evening market are targeted in the plan, said Monzer Al Zaabi, director general of RAK Municipality, as quoted by Al Ittihad, The National’s sister paper.
The number of stands will be increased and new facilities will be added for selling salted fish, for which there is a high demand among Emiratis. The plan also involves renovation and maintenance of fish market facilities through expansions.
