New man at helm to help steer Abu Dhabi tourism vision

After its long-standing chief executive resigned to act as an advisor to the company's chairman, James Pringle has taken the helm at the Tourism Development and Investment Company (TDIC) .

James Pringle has taken the helm at the Tourism Development and Investment Company (TDIC) after the long-standing chief executive resigned to act as an advisor to the company's chairman.

Mr Pringle was previously the executive director of development and has become acting CEO, TDIC said in a statement.

"Lee Tabler has now been appointed as an advisor to His Excellency Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Chairman of TDIC," the company said. "Lee has been the CEO of TDIC since its inception in 2005, and in his new role will be assisting HE Sheikh Sultan in his broader duties."

TDIC is building some of Abu Dhabi's most ambitious tourism projects, including three museums on Saadiyat Island and the Eastern Mangroves hotel on Salam Street. It has already launched the Qasr al Sarab desert hotel in the dunes of Liwa and the Desert Islands Resort and Spa on Bani Yas island.
