Family fun at Dubai parks over Eid Al Adha holidays
DUBAI // The municipality has promised plenty of family entertainment at its public parks during the Eid Al Adha holidays next week.
Traditional Emirati dance, African drumming and stilt walkers are among the acts lined up for those wanting to spend the holidays in greener surrounds.
“The move is aimed at providing maximum entertainment and happiness for the residents and visitors during Eid,” said Taleb Julfar, director of public parks and horticulture at Dubai Municipality.
“Most of the programmes are targeting families and children, considering the increased number of families visiting parks on special occasions.”
The performances will take place over the first three days of Eid at Al Mushrif, Al Safa, Al Mamzar, Creek, Jumeirah Beach, Zabeel and Zoo parks.
They will stay open until 11pm and extra security and cleaners have been employed.
“The number of park visitors during the last few years indicates the high rate of public interest in socialising with families, relatives and friends in the most attractive places of the city,” said Mr Julfar.
“In a bid to meet the expectations of residents, and considering the high level of health awareness, the civic body has recently added several new parks in different areas of the emirate.
“And next year we are going to have the World Wonders in Dubai, including the Holy Quran Park and Crocodile Park.”
