HTC is looking to expand its presence in the UAE and wider Middle East and Africa region. Here is a selection of some of its latest offerings locally:
Flyer:
Description This tablet has a 7-inch touchscreen, which is the same size as Research In Motion's PlayBook but smaller than Apple's 9.7-inch iPad. One novel feature is "scribe technology", which lets owners use a special pen and link audio recordings to notes taken during work. This model was released in June, but a new version will be coming out next year, HTC says.
Price Dh2,999 (US$816) for 32GB of memory
EVO 3D:
Description Unlike many TV sets that display 3-D images, this smartphone does not require users to wear dorky glasses. Its screen measures 4.3 inches, and the model became available in the UAE in September.
Price Dh2,899
Sensation XL:
Description This smartphone, and its sister model the XE, were the first to include Beats Audio, which combines software and Dr Dre headphones so owners can "listen to music the way the artist intended it to be heard". HTC says the feature offers fuller bass, crisper vocals and better clarity for listeners to hear their favourite tunes.
Price Dh2,179
