DUBAI // World football legends Luis Figo and Deco will visit the Dubai Mall on Saturday to top off a week of computer gaming action at the Fanta Masters Championship.
The two Portuguese stars, whose teams include Real Madrid and Barcelona in La Liga, will be joined by another former Real Madrid player, Spaniard Michel Salgado, at Dubai ice rink to play Fifa 16 as Dubai Gaming Week comes to a close with the national finals.
Power League Gaming is the latest e-sports event to be held in Dubai to satisfy demand from a growing legion of fans who will be playing in knock-out competition in online PC and PlayStation 4 games ahead of the finals this weekend.
Also this week, other amateur gamers are pitting their wits against teams in titles such as racing game Most Wanted: Need for Speed, military games Call of Duty and Counter Strike, League of Legends and the strategy game Defence of the Ancients.
The Fanta Masters aims to find the top amateur gamers in the region, with the best competing in a pro tournament environment.
Winners will receive a Dodge Charger car and a trip to Italy, as well as cash prizes for winners in the earlier competition.
