Emirati dialect app launched by Dubai Municipality

The app, called 'Ramsatina' has an option to search the pronunciation in the local dialect and add new local words for updating purposes.

DUBAI // A smart app containing a glossary of local words was launched on Wednesday by the Dubai Municipality.

The app, called “Ramsatina” has an option to search the pronunciation in the local dialect and add new local words for updating purposes.

The app contains more than 3,900 words from the local dialect of the UAE. A ‘smart’ dictionary has been launched on smart phones, so researchers can search the meaning fo any word from the local dialect.

Khalid Ali bin Zayed, a member of the Federal National Council, came up with the idea of the applicaition.
