I work in a hotel in Abu Dhabi, but due to the recession plan of the company, my contract has been terminated after having been with them for a little less than 11 months. The company gave me two months' notice so that I can find another job. I understood that there's an automatic six-month labour ban because I haven't completed two years of service with the company. I have just received a job offer at another company in Dubai with a salary of more than what I receive from the current one. Will I still get a ban? AM, Abu Dhabi
If anyone is made redundant by an employer, so they left employment not of their own accord, they should not receive a labour ban and are able to go straight to another job without delay. The current employer simply cancels the visa and ensures that the authorities know this is due to redundancy/termination, and there should be no problems arising from the new employer applying for the next work-related residency visa.
