Ramadan 2019: six retailers offering online deals

Ramadan is a time for giving — and that certainly seems to be the case for retailers in the UAE. A total of 650 co-op societies and other supermarkets are offering discounts of 50 to 75 per cent on more than 10,000 commodities with total savings estimated at Dh350 million, according to the Ministry of Economy. Car dealers have special offers, including thousands of dirhams worth of cashback and reductions.

But you don’t even have to leave the house with e-tailers and stores offering online Ramadan deals. Here are six websites where you can get discounts in this month of generosity.

Amazon.ae

The new site, previously souq.com in the UAE, has a dedicated Ramadan section with discounts of up to 60 per cent. Health and fitness trackers, including Fitbit, are up to 25 per cent off. Food and beverage brands such as Al Ain, Tang, Rainbow, Lipton, Anchor and Bayara are up to 30 per cent off. Home and kitchen products are up to 50 per cent off. Finally, Amazon.ae is offering 60 per cent off a wide range of perfumes, make-up and beauty.

The Ramadan supermarket specials include up to 20 per cent off Al Ain products, up to 25 per cent off Pampers and up to 50 per cent off Fine. Downy, Arial and Pantene are up to 40 per cent off.

“Trends have shown us that online retail shopping increases during the month of Ramadan so we’re working hard to ensure our customers have a convenient and effortless shopping experience, with fast delivery options,” said Ronaldo Mouchawar, vice president of Amazon Mena. “Our deals are focused on hand-picked products and categories that we know are important to the region during the month.”

Noon.com

Noon.com immediately pops up with Ramadan deals when you go to the site. The mega deals include 40 per cent off exercise machines, 50 per cent off Reebok products and up to 85 per cent off bath and bedding products. There is also “The Ramadan Market” icon on the home page, which features the best prices for “12 hours only”. The link takes you to more than 2,300 products on sale.

In electronics, the deals include more than 50 per cent off on a Mi Band fitness tracker (Dh69 instead of Dh149) and 22 per cent off a PS4 (Dh1,309 instead of Dh1,699). In home and kitchen, the discounts range from 7 per cent off for a mixing bowl to 91 per cent off for an ice cream maker.

Awok.com

Awok has “new deals every hour” in its Ramadan Sale section. In a flash sale, the price of an Apple iPhone XS 64GB is slashed from Dh4,028 to Dh749. The price of an insulated lunch box decreased from Dh59 to Dh1. Delivery charges range from Dh9 to Dh39 depending on your location.

Aceuae.com

Ace Hardware is offering “Ramadan Celebrate” discounts on hundreds of products in store and online. The discounts range from 10 to 50 per cent off. For example, you can save around 25 per cent on a NutriBullet (Dh599 instead of Dh789) or a four-seater Rattan sofa set (Dh1,499 instead of Dh1,999). There is free standard delivery for orders above Dh799.

Homecentre.com

Home Centre has 25 to 70 per cent off in its Ramadan Kareem sale in-store and online. An eight-seater dining set is 25 per cent off, costing Dh1,125 instead of Dh3,374. There is free shipping for household orders over Dh250 and furniture orders over Dh1,000.

Panemirates.com

Pan Emirates has 30 to 70 per cent off everything in store and features its Ramadan Collection 2019 e-catalogue online. For example, a five-piece bedroom set is offered at 31 per cent off (Dh10,995 instead of Dh15,995) and a three-seater sofa is offered at 66 per cent off (Dh1,995 instead of Dh5,795).
