Female leaders lift their companies’ bottom line

A Credit Suisse report shows that higher participation by women as chief executives or board members generates higher returns on equity.

If you are searching for that extra boost to your company’s earnings, try putting women on your board or in your C-suite.

That is the conclusion of a Credit Suisse report. The study said that companies with more women in decision-making roles generated on average 19 per cent more returns on equity than their male-dominated competitors. As a bonus, they also ran more conservative balance sheets.

In some cases, women-led companies doubled the stock price performance of their competitors.
