Dubai Holding targets young employees in recruitment drive

Dubai Holding said it had established a Youth Council to empower young employees.

The council, comprising 14 senior executives who work across the Dubai Holding conglomerate, is targeting employees between 21 and 30 years old.

“Young people today are the leaders of tomorrow, and we affirm their valuable role within Dubai Holding,” said Ahmad bin Byat, vice chairman and managing director of Dubai Holding. “It is not enough to listen to ideas or take on board their concerns. We must, as an organisation, make a focused and cohesive effort to empower and equip the next generation.”

The council is chaired by Abdulla AlSuwaidi, operations executive at Tecom Group. Its vice chairwoman is Eman Al Qemzi, assistant manager at the internal audit department of Dubai Holding.

The council will push young employees of the organisation to lead social responsibility projects that fall in line with the Government of Dubai’s long-term vision.

“Empowering and enabling our youth is a top priority for our government,” said Shamma bint Suhail Al Mazrui, the Minister of State for Youth Affairs. “It is essential for us to facilitate opportunities for them to learn, grow and cultivate their skills in order for them to reach their full potential.”
