CNBC International is to launch a new Middle East market update section, which it will host live from Abu Dhabi.

The business and financial news network said that the section will report into CNBC shows such as Squawk Box directly from the International Financial Centre within the Abu Dhabi Global Market. It will be hosted by CNBC's Middle East anchor, Hadley Gamble.

John Casey, the senior vice-president of international news and programming for CNBC, said: “The economic story in the Middle East is one that we are extremely interested in. We’ve seen huge growth across the region in recent years and Hadley will be on the ground to get under the skin of these stories.”

Mubarak Al Nakhi, the director of strategy and business affairs at ADGM, said: “International news and programming networks are important constituents contributing towards a successful business and financial marketplace. At ADGM, we look forward to [CNBC’s] more in-depth news coverage of the region to enable corporates and investors to make more informed business and investment decisions.”

He added: “Having access to succinct and timely news reports and insights is vital to the growth and sustainability of any economy.”

The announcement is the latest of a series of tie-ups between local exchanges and financial news networks.

Two weeks ago, Nasdaq Dubai announced that it would set up a specialist facility for broadcast companies at its new base in The Exchange building, which is set to open next year.

The location, known as Market Site, will host broadcasting studio facilities for TV companies. It will also house an events space that can be used by companies to celebrate IPOs and other listings, as well as holding corporate functions, seminars and educational events.

“As the region’s financial markets expand rapidly in size and sophistication, Market Site will meet a growing need for a premier facility for thought leadership, events and information as well as providing visibility for issuers,” said Hamed Ali, the chief executive of Nasdaq Dubai.

CNBC’s reporting from ADGM also follows a deal announced 12 months ago between the financial free zone and Bloomberg, with new programming and an annual conference run from the capital.

Top tips

Create and maintain a strong bond between yourself and your child, through sensitivity, responsiveness, touch, talk and play. “The bond you have with your kids is the blueprint for the relationships they will have later on in life,” says Dr Sarah Rasmi, a psychologist.
Set a good example. Practise what you preach, so if you want to raise kind children, they need to see you being kind and hear you explaining to them what kindness is. So, “narrate your behaviour”.
Praise the positive rather than focusing on the negative. Catch them when they’re being good and acknowledge it.
Show empathy towards your child’s needs as well as your own. Take care of yourself so that you can be calm, loving and respectful, rather than angry and frustrated.
Be open to communication, goal-setting and problem-solving, says Dr Thoraiya Kanafani. “It is important to recognise that there is a fine line between positive parenting and becoming parents who overanalyse their children and provide more emotional context than what is in the child’s emotional development to understand.”
