Abu Dhabi Aviation (ADA) and Montreal-based CAE on Wednesday signed an agreement to expand their helicopter, commercial and business aviation training agreement.
CAE, a trainer for the civil aviation, defence and security industries, will also sell two full-flight simulators as well as instructor-led training and training course ware as part of the deal.
ADA is the largest commercial helicopter operator in the Middle East, and operates a fleet of 60 helicopters, with aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul facilities.
The collaboration will see CAE and ADA delivering training to regional operators at ADA’s new training facility in Abu Dhabi.
“We are delighted to further expand our relationship with our training partner CAE,” said Nadir Al Hammadi, the chairman of ADA. “CAE has been training our pilots and providing state-of-the-art training equipment for more than a decade, and we are looking forward to this extended collaboration, for the support of our own and our customers’ growing training needs, long into the future.”
The equipment will be delivered to ADA’s training centre, which is scheduled to start operations in the first quarter next year.
The new CAE 7000XR series simulators are equipped with the CAE Tropos-6000XR innovative visual systems and will be ready for training in the first half of 2018, according to ADA.
The new equipment complements ADA’s existing CAE-built AW-139 and B-412 simulators.
