For Mother's Day, Boom and Mellow will be supporting mothers and empowering women who currently live in Syrian refugee camps in Lebanon and Turkey. Owner Sima Barazi Haroun has partnered with Basmeh & Zeitooneh Foundation with the Mothers for Mothers campaign in the days leading up to the Gulf region-celebrated Mother's Day.
Basmeh & Zeitooneh Foundation has set up women’s workshops in Lebanon to train refugees in embroidery, so that they may then sell their handmade products, develop their craftsmanship and earn an income. A selection of their bags, scarves and pillowcases featuring embroidery and crochet work will be sold at Boom & Mellow from Wednesday, March 16 through Saturday, March 19. In addition, Haroun will donate profits from all sales made in store that weekend to the foundation.
