Week 3 of Primal: weight woes, bruises and food

Two weeks down, two more to go and I've got this Primal Transformation down to a T.

My daily routine is planned out perfectly: wake up, drive to Zayed Sports City, work out, shower, work, make dinner, lunch for tomorrow and a green juice, get in bed by 7:30pm- repeat.

It all seemed to be working out smoothly- so smoothly in fact that I began to panic: was I not working hard enough? Maybe I was eating too much? Surely it can't be this enjoyable!

I shared my concerns with Michael Haddin who laughed at my worrying that half a chicken was too much for dinner- "I would've had a whole one," he said.

Sure enough my worries came true on Wednesday when the scales showed I had put on a whole kilogram. However, Michael reassured me that it was muscle weight and instructed me not to weigh myself again until the end of the programme.

I couldn't help myself this morning and jumped on the scales- I was down 2kg from Wednesday and felt confident about my eating habits again.

When it came to the training we were with Sam again this week. With his constant encouragement (which probably left him without a voice by the end of the hour) I found myself zooming up and down the stairs with a lot more ease and flipping lorry tyres without needing an extra set of hands.

Although pushing myself in the workouts had a price: nine bruises on my left leg, eight on the right and three on my arms.

All in all a good week- even with the blue and purple bumps. Three weeks and 4kg down, five more sessions to go.
