With less than two weeks before the opening of Sharjah Biennial 11, the president of Sharjah Art Foundation H.E. Sheikha Hoor Al-Qasimi and the event's prestigious curator Yuko Hasegawa, will be talking with one of the participating artist Otobong Nkanga about the concept for the upcoming event at a panel discussion tonight.

Hasegawa was inspired by the courtyard in Islamic architecture and she will explain this during the discussion where Sheikha Hoor will detail the history of Sharjah Biennial and Otobong Nkanga will speak about her site specific work called a Taste of Stone: Itiat Esa Ufok in which she explores themes concerning landscape, displacement and the notion of home.

The panel will take place at Sharjah Institute of Theatrical Arts at 8.30pm and it will be followed by a reception. For more information please contact info@sharjahart.org
