The recently launched regional online streaming service, Starz Play, continues to grow with the announcement that it has signed an exclusive, multi-year, digital rights agreement with CBS Studios International to bring content from the Showtime and CBS networks to the region.

The agreement means that Starz Play will bring shows like Penny Dreadful, Extant and Zoo to subscribers, in full series format for older shows and shortly after US broadcast in the case of new shows.

Maaz Sheikh, President of STARZ Play, said of the deal: “We are delighted to be working with CBS Studios International to bring their premium content to the region with this exclusive deal. This deal meets the rising demand for premium OTT content by the region’s burgeoning young population and recognises the unique opportunity the Middle East market presents. We look forward to a long and fruitful partnership.”
