There are plenty of places that one could cite as perfect location to propose marriage to your beloved.
In front of the Taj Mahal, atop the Eiffel Tower or perhaps during a sunset-lit stroll along an idyllic, unspoiled beach all come to mind.
Dubai hotelier Hayden Edgtton, however, chose a somewhat more unusual spot - in the company of a gaggle of penguins at Ski Dubai.
During the indoor ski centre’s penguin enounter experience, Edgtton stooped down on one knee and popped the question to his girlfriend Glaucia Alves.
Explaining his decision to opt for a spot that's not usually associated with romance, he said he was inspired by the aquatic birds' genial nature.
"[The penguins] are such amazing, friendly creatures and being with them I was reassured this was the right moment,” he revealed.
“It’s a wonderful start to our life together and I can’t wait to share our proposal story with our friends and family,” he added.
Of course, if this fails to impress the couple's acquaintances, they could always Photoshop in a Taj Mahal backdrop to the engagement pics.
