- The Montreux Jazz Festival features three concerts by Prince as well as shows by Leonard Cohen, Sting and Joe Cocker. The event on the shores of Lake Geneva is the 47th edition of the festival, which has retained its jazz label despite expanding its repertoire over the years. - Natalie Cole has released her first Spanish album. She dedicates it to her kidney donor in 2009, a woman from El Salvador who died while giving birth to a baby boy. The 12-track album is a compilation of Latin American classics, plus a Spanish-language version of the Beatles' And I Love Her.
