Three of Bollywood's most famous Khans – Shah Rukh, Salman and Aamir – have already had a taste of the small screen but Saif Ali Khan is more than happy to stay away from it. "I don't know about acting on TV. I feel we need good content. As of now, it is cornered by housewives, and there's a need for content aimed at young boys. Our [Indian] TV is not very good," Saif said. As a viewer, he enjoys watching TV and believes it shouldn't be called an idiot box. "I like to watch British and American TV shows once in a while, and one has to admit that the quality of some of their stuff is as good as Hollywood movies," he said. Ali Khan, who was recently seen in his home production Go Goa Gone – a zombie film – has said a firm no to Indian TV reality shows as well. "I can't bear reality TV. Why would I want to watch it? I don't like shows such as Big Brother. I prefer drama," he said. – IANS
Admitting that he takes the defeat of his Kolkata Knight Riders team "personally", Shah Rukh Khan said that the Indian Premier League cricket matches have been a learning experience for him and his children. "I got to learn a lot [from the IPL]. I learnt how to lose but not become a loser. My children have also learnt a lot from the IPL – more than they have from my profession. But the IPL's uncontrolled, unbridled excitement, the ups and downs and not knowing what's going to happen, all this has taught them to be better people. So I thank the IPL," Khan told a television channel while promoting his film Chennai Express, which will be out on August 8. Conceding that he missed most of his team's matches, Khan said he had to juggle cricket and films, and didn't make it to to Eden Gardens, where most of his team's matches were played. "I was working, and I'm injured, too. Also, I wanted to complete the movie. Anyway, people would have been happy watching the matches, regardless of whether I was there. And when my film comes out, people will be happy watching it, too. I have to balance out cricket entertainment and film entertainment," said Khan. The IPL tournament concluded on Sunday and the Mumbai Indians lifted the trophy. – IANS
The actress Kanika Tiwari, who played Hrithik Roshan's sister in the 2012 Bollywood film Agneepath, has already signed her second Telugu romantic drama, even as she awaits the release of her first Telugu film, Boy Meets Girl. Her second project will have her acting opposite the southern Indian star Prince Cecil. "We are planning to launch the film in June. Shooting will start in the first week of July. I roped in Kanika Tiwari after I saw her performance in Agneepath," said Ramesh, the film's director. "Tiwari may come from a state in northern India but she has the features of a southern Indian. This is why I was bent on casting her." The rest of the cast as well as the film's title have not been announced yet. Tiwari has already acted in a Tamil film titled Avikumar. – IANS
