British songstress Adele, who had hits with Someone Like You and the most recent James Bond soundtrack Skyfall, will team up with Phil Collins for her new album.
According to reports out of the USA, Adele approached the former Genesis frontman to write some songs together for the follow up to her 2011 album 21.
Collins told Inside South Florida on Friday that he had just started working with 25-year-old Adele and that he hadn't known much about her until recently. "I wasn't actually too aware. I live in a cave," he joked. "But she's achieved an incredible amount. I really love her voice. I love some of that stuff she's done, too," he added.
Adele has won multiple Grammy awards for her music and some media reports have suggested her new album could be released in mid 2014.
Last month, 21 became the first album to pass three million digital sales in the United States, according to leading online tracking company Nielsen. It continues to enjoy robust sales and so far has sold 26 million copies worldwide.
Collins, the drummer-turned-frontman of Genesis who went on to sell more than 100 million albums as a solo artist, announced in March 2011 that he was calling it a day to concentrate on being a full-time father to two young sons.
