Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan will be returning to the small screen with the second season of Satyamev Jayate tonight.
The show, which airs on Star Plus, was initiated in 2012 to uncover and discuss the most pressing challenges in Indian society.
This year, the show is being promoted with the slogan “Jinhe Desh Ki Fikr Hai” (For those who care about the country). It aims to educate and encourage TV-audience to participate in an action-oriented change.
“I am excited about the new season of Satyamev Jayate, a show that is extremely close to my heart,” said Aamir Khan.
“It was a journey of learning and revelation, a tough one for me to tread on but am extremely happy with what we have managed to do this season, in bringing forward relevant and key social issues that matter to the people.”
Star India bosses say the show will be addressing concerns from all over the country. South Indian superstar Mohanlal will be the brand ambassador for the show in South India.
The first season brought the channel 500million viewers and responses from more than 843 cities. Organisers were able to raise more than Dh 13 million in donations.
The new season premiers tonight at 9:30pm on Star Plus.
