Property companies might be hurting, but that doesn't mean the property market is dead. Dubizzle, the free online classified advertising service where many expats go to swap apartments, has had its busiest month of traffic, The National reports.  And there are deals to be had in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, as developers continue to drop prices, including for properties already sold, to keep projects on track, The National reports.

The Khaleej Times reports that green building codes for Dubai are expected to be finished in May, four months late. Unnamed sources blame -- wait for it -- the global downturn.

Arabian Business reports that an updated Dubai rental index due out next month may not be based on new rental values after all. RERA indicated in February that the index would be updated and rereleased based on concerns that it was based on unrealistic rental values taken during the summer of 2008 --those halcyon days when when property prices seemed to be in a skyward race with the Burj Dubai.
