Middle East building materials prices up 15% in April

The prices of some buildings materials in the Middle East rose by as much as 15 per cent in April as compared to the first quarter, according to the latest price indexes maintained by Danube Building Materials in Dubai. Steel rose the most, from US$430 to $US500 per tonne.

Danube officials also claim to have seen increased buying activity in the building materials sector in April. Prices also rose for medium density fibreboards, white wood, freight costs and a 40-feet container.
