Celebrated melodies from generations gone by will be brought to life with the return of the Memory of the Emirati Song series.

Singer and oud player Hazza Abdullah Al Dhanhani will pay tribute to the music of her forefathers when she performs at Al Ain’s Al Jahili Fort on March 2.

The series sees Emirati youths perform poetry and traditional songs from the 1950s to the 1970s, keeping the emirates’s heritage alive.

Hazza has previously participated in several Emirati singing competitions including Najm Al Khaleej on Dubai TV, Najm Al Emarat and Najm Al Shallah on Nojoom Channel, Ghany on Abu Dhabi TV and Star Khalijya on Khalijya FM.

The performance, which is part of a year-long programme of cultural initiatives in the “Garden City”, will take place tomorrow (Thursday, March 2) from 8pm. Entry is free for all interested attendees. For more information log on to www.visitabudhabi.ae
