Shaggy says he would love to organise an international reggae festival. However, it may not go under his proposed name of Shagfest.
“There are couple of people that have that have that name already, but maybe down the line we can use it,” he says from the Mawazine Festival in Morocco.
“But I would to love to make a reggae festival and tour the world. In Jamaica I have a festival called Shaggy and Friends, which is a charity event to raise funds for a hospital. So that can be something that we can build on and take around the world.”
Shaggy, who scored the recent hits Only Love and Habibi (I Need Your Love), confirmed that he has signed a new recording deal and expects a new album to be released later this year.
The Mawazine Festival continues until May 28. Visit www.festivalmawazine.ma for more details
