After more than three months out of the spotlight, Kim Kardashian West is set to make her first public appearance of the new year in Dubai.
The American reality television star rescheduled after cancelling her planned trip to the UAE back in October after being robbed at gunpoint in Paris, France, during fashion week.
The 36-year-old most famous for reality series Keeping up with the Kardashians was set to lead a make up masterclass on October 14 with celebrity make-up artist Mario Dedivanovic.
According to a British newspaper, the event with Dedivanovic has been rescheduled for January 13 and will take place at The Music Hall at the Jumeirah Zabeel Saray hotel.
According to the flyer “Mario and Kim will share personal stories from their ten years of adventures working together and travelling the world”.
Tickets for the new dates, which are set at a whopping Dh5,870, are listed as sold out on the Platinum List booking website, however, a ticketing officer from the company has advised hopefuls to “wait two days or so because I think more tickets will be made available”.
The event marks the first time Kardashian West has appeared at an event, other than public family outings, since she was robbed of US$8.5million worth of jewels in Paris on October 3.
Immediately after the robbery, she flew back to Los Angeles where she remained at home for weeks and subsequently cancelled all professional commitments.
Production on her reality TV show were halted for three weeks to support the Kardashian clan. In early November, Kardashian West came out of self-imposed hiding to visit her new niece Dream Kardashian. She went to the house where her 29-year-old brother Rob Kardashian, and his on-again-off-again fiancée Blac Chyna, 28, were.
Kardashian was planning a public comeback on November 21, with a scheduled appearance at the New York Angel Ball charity event, but was forced to cancel when her husband, music producer and rapper Kanye West was hospitalised in LA suffering from exhaustion.
It was reported West had suffered a psychotic episode at his personal trainer’s house after experiencing severe anxiety in the aftermath of his wife’s robbery. He had to have his condition stabilised and was in hospital for over a week. West, who was performing in New York at the time of the robbery, stopped the show midway to rush to his wife’s side.
Kardashian’s last visit to the UAE was in May 2015 when she flew to Dubai for a beauty seminar. She visited again in 2011 to open the Millions of Milkshakes store in Dubai Mall and again in 2014 to launch her perfume Fleur Fatale at the Parfum Monde showroom in Dubai. During this trip she also hosted an Abu Dhabi Formula One After Race concert after party at the VIP Room at Yas Island’s Radisson Blu.

Tips for job-seekers
- Do not submit your application through the Easy Apply button on LinkedIn. Employers receive between 600 and 800 replies for each job advert on the platform. If you are the right fit for a job, connect to a relevant person in the company on LinkedIn and send them a direct message.
- Make sure you are an exact fit for the job advertised. If you are an HR manager with five years’ experience in retail and the job requires a similar candidate with five years’ experience in consumer, you should apply. But if you have no experience in HR, do not apply for the job.
