Bieber stops by Movida nightclub

Justin Bieber apparently spent his first night in Dubai on Friday at Movida nightclub. "Did anyone spot our celeb guest last night @JustinBieber? @MovidaDubai hopes to see you again JB, good luck tonight! #Believe," read a post from Movida's Twitter and Facebook pages on Saturday morning. At about 8pm on Friday, Bieber tweeted, "Just chillin with the fellas in Dubai. No big deal. Haha." Before coming to Dubai, Bieber performed in Turkey on Thursday. He paused twice during his Istanbul performance to honour the Islamic call to prayer. "I'm not a Justin Bieber fan but as a Muslim, I got a lot of respect for him because of what he did," posted one Twitter user, @WazzaPD_94. Here's to hoping he'll extend the same respect in the UAE should the call to prayer occur during his performances tonight and tomorrow. – The National staff

Psy’s Gentleman takes dive in charts

Psy's new single Gentleman has plunged in the US charts as he tries to repeat the success of Gangnam Style. Gentleman dropped to 26th place in the Billboard Hot 100 this week, from fifth place last week and 12th on its debut two weeks ago. The music video of Psy's new single has been watched more than 275 million times on YouTube, but Billboard only counts the number of views in the US. Gentleman dropped to sixth in the YouTube rankings after two weeks at the top. Psy shrugged off the plunge in the US chart, saying that a marketing blitz had yet to kick off there. "The promotion begins this weekend, so I don't see it as a 'drop in the charts' but only the beginning. Rock on!!" he tweeted. – AP

Witherspoon lied about pregnancy

Reese Witherspoon recalled that she panicked and said some "crazy things" the night she was arrested in Atlanta on a disorderly conduct charge. In her first interview about the arrest on Thursday on Good Morning America, Witherspoon repeatedly apologised for her behaviour during the April 19 traffic stop. "I have no idea what I was saying that night," she said. "I literally panicked. I said all kinds of crazy things. I told them I was pregnant. I'm not pregnant." Witherspoon's husband Jim Toth was charged with drunken driving. "There are so many lessons learnt," Witherspoon said. AP
