on the
Palm Jumeirah
and
Discovery Gardens
development were shocked this weekend to find the above notice in their lobbies. Some people, understandably, panicked at the idea of no air conditioning just as summer starts to peak.
It turns out that the notices were part of a brinkmanship between
Nakheel
and
Palm Utilities
(both of which are owned by Dubai World). Nakheel now says that "an error has been rectified" and that the utilities will not be shut off. Nonetheless, some people are pretty upset.
