Home improvements: tips on how to use water more sustainably

Here are three ways to use water more sustainably.

First of all, don’t leave the water running while you’re shaving, brushing your teeth or washing your face. This wastes a large amount of water. Install a hands-free technology option to conserve water while carrying out these everyday tasks.

Next, change your shower head. By switching to a low-flow shower head, you can reduce your shower water consumption by up to half.

Delta Faucets’ H2O Kinetic Technology shower heads allow you to conserve water without sacrificing your bathing experience. This technology can save the equivalent of 385 bottles of water in just one week. Showering for five minutes or less using a low-flow shower head is the most efficient way to bathe.

Remember, a single drop from a leaking faucet can waste 75 litres of water per day. Get specialised faucets that are leak- and lead-free (once inside the faucet, water isn’t in contact with potential metal contaminants), easy to install and longer lasting.
