Thankfully, we live in a climate that allows our flip-flop and sandal collections to outnumber boots and close-toed shoes. While sandals and flip flops are light and easy to don, they can be tricky to store neatly. More often than not, they get pushed to the back of the closet, on top of each other. But there’s an easy solution to this annoyance: a dedicated flip-flop hanger.
Grab some spare wire hangers from your closet, a paint in the colour of your choice and some wire clippers. Clip the bottom of the hangers off, pull the sides down and curl the ends up enough to allow the sandals to hang without slipping off (you can test this as you go along and bend the sides up as necessary).
Once you have the hangers where you need them, paint each side of the hanger. Make sure to lay down newspaper on the surface before painting and allow the first side to dry before you begin the second. Alternatively, use spray paint. To add a decorative spin to your new shoe hanger, grab some thick multicoloured or patterned ribbon and cut into strips. Wrap round the base of the hanger and use glue to secure.
