Hit West End musical Merchants of Bollywood is being staged in Dubai for the first time, with performances kicking off at Global Village on November 26 and running until December 24.
The show, a vibrant tribute to the magic of Bollywood cinema, features more than 40 performers, 1,200 costumes and 5,000 pieces of glittering jewellery.
It has already been seen by over two million people in 20 countries around the world since opening 12 years ago.
Merchants of Bollywood tells the story of a young dancer, Ayesha Merchant, who is torn between following her family's tradition of the Indian classical dance form Kathak, and incorporating more modern styles to express her individuality.
The story unfolds through a host of song and dance numbers, featuring actual Bollywood dancers.
The show will stage three performances a day until December 24. Admission is included in the general Global Village entrance fee, which is Dh15 per person. Global Village is open from November until April from 4pm daily. Visit www.globalvillage.ae for more details.
