Fox Searchlight has released a second trailer for the Image Nation Abu Dhabi-produced He Named Me Malala.

The documentary follows the life of Malala Yousafzai, who was shot in the head by the Taliban on a school bus in 2012, for campaigning for the educational rights of girls in her native Pakistan. It is directed by Oscar-winning Inconvenient Truth filmmaker Davis Guggenheim.

Malala moved to the UK for medical treatment after suffering horrific headwounds. She has since spoken about her education campaign at the United Nations, on John Stewart's The Daily Show and around the world. In 2014, at the age of 17, she became the youngest ever winner of the Nobel Peace Prize.

The movie will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 12, before it is released in cinemas around the world, starting with the US on October 2 – no UAE release date has been announced as yet.
