European Film Screenings for October 25 and 26: Oki – In the Middle of the Ocean and Therapy for a Vampire

A look at a film from Latvia and a horror-comedy – a co-production between Austria and Switzerland – that will screen in the UAE as part of the European Film Festival.

Unemployed Rob becomes obsessed with Oki, a strange Japanese woman who is constantly moving house. In the course of investigating her story, Rob and his housemate, Wylie, are forced to face Oki’s dark past – as well as their own. Director Martinsons is credited with making Latvia’s first independent music video in 1989.

Therapy for a Vampire (2014)

This is an imaginative, 20th-century retelling of the Dracula legend, in which the ubiquitous count seeks help from Sigmund Freud after growing tired of his immortality. The count is introduced to a painter and his girlfriend, Lucy, as part of his therapy.
