10. Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson

Racking up 14,544,202 likes (and counting), the wrestler-turned-actor's photo of his August 2019 Hawaiian wedding to singer-songwriter Lauren Hashian is the 10th-most liked Instagram picture of all time. And the popularity of the post is testament to how beloved the Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw actor is, both in Hollywood, with his fans and his 199.8 million followers.

9. Kylie Jenner

The make-up mogul's adorable snap of daughter Stormi enjoying a bubble bath went down a (ahem) storm with Jenner's 197 million followers. Captioning the snap, "This pic makes me happy", the photo has so far been liked 15,344,207 times, and Stormi, 2, Jenner's daughter with rapper Travis Scott, continues to feature heavily on her mum's 'gram.

8. LeBron James

The basketball star’s tribute to the late Kobe Bryant and his daughter, Gigi, who were killed in a helicopter crash in January, touched fans across the world, who have liked it 15,497,605 times.

"I'm not ready but here I go. Man, I (am) sitting here trying to write something for this post but every time I try I begin crying again just thinking about you, niece Gigi and the friendship / bond / brotherhood we had!" wrote LA Lakers player James, 35, to his 72.8 million followers. "Man I love you big bro. My heart goes to Vanessa and the kids. I promise you I'll continue your legacy man!"

7. Tentree

Followers flocked to like this post by Tentree, which called itself "the world’s most sustainable post". Trading tree planting for likes, the "earth-first lifestyle apparel" company promised to plant 500,000 trees in Indonesia for five million likes, and hopes to eventually reach 100 million. The post is currently at 15,575,571 likes, so get clicking.

6. Kylie Jenner

Jenner makes the list again at number six, with a birthday tribute post to her on-off boyfriend Scott, as he plays with their daughter, Stormi.

“Happy birthday to daddy of the year!” wrote the Kylie Cosmetics entrepreneur in a post that garnered 15,967,045 likes. “I’m slowly but surely starting to accept the fact that Storm is a daddy’s girl, but whatever. We went half on greatness!”

5. Jennifer Aniston

For a short period this year, the Hollywood actress held the record for gaining one million followers in the fastest amount of time when she joined Instagram in October. And although her record was recently broken by David Attenborough, Aniston is at number five in this list with her photo of the Friends cast reunited, which racked up 16,292,849 likes. Could that be more impressive?

4. Kylie Jenner

Jenner returns, hitting the number four spot with the first photo of her daughter, Stormi Webster, back in February 2018. And simply by introducing her baby girl to her fans and followers, the reality TV star earned 18,592,812 likes.

3. Chadwick Boseman

The Black Panther star's family took to Instagram, as well as Twitter, to announce the actor's untimely passing from colon cancer at the age of 43, in a poignant tribute that has so far been liked 19,016,314 times.

"It is with immeasurable grief that we confirm the passing of Chadwick Boseman," the Boseman family wrote. "Chadwick was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016, and battled with it these last 4 years as it progressed to stage IV. It was the honour of his career to bring King T'Challa to life in Black Panther. He died in his home, with his wife and family by his side."

2. XXXTentacion

The American rapper's one and only photo on his Instagram account was posted on May 20, 2018, with the caption "Love is war" And less than one month later, the rapper, whose real name was Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy, died after being shot in Florida on June 18. The post has so far been liked 21,742,790 times.

1. Eugene the egg

In an attempt to stop Jenner from dominating Instagram, British advertising creative Chris Godfrey posted a picture of an egg, which he named Eugene, writing: “Let’s set a world record together and get the most liked post on Instagram. Beating the current world record held by Kylie Jenner (18 million)! We got this.” And got this he did, as the egg has so far racked up 54,832,057 likes. And why an egg?

"An egg has no gender, race or religion," Godfrey told The New York Times. "It's universal."
