On Sunday, The National broke the story about Hopkins Architects filing a lawsuit for Dh27 million against Dubai Properties Group for unpaid fees, expenses and other costs. At first, Dubai Properties declined to comment about the lawsuit (filed in the DIFC Courts).

Now, they are fighting back and claim they will file their own lawsuit against Hopkins "in relation to services provided by Hopkins".

Here's Dubai Properties' statement:

"We can confirm that we had a contract with Hopkins that was paid in full. Hopkins are now seeking additional amounts that we dispute. We intend to counter claim in relation to the services provided by Hopkins. The project is continuing under the supervision of a different consultant."
